The Mekong River, which has its origin in the Tibetan highland plateau 2,800 miles away, approaches and empties into the South China sea through a network of distributaries, comprising the large Mekong Delta, the “rice basket’ of Vietnam. Life in Mekong Delta revolves much around the mighty Mekong river. Many sleepy villages, located on the tiny islands made by thousands of large and small channels, are only accessible by waterways. The villages’ friendly inhabitants cultivate the water rice on their large rice fields and catch fishes fron the generous rivers for everyday living; for purchasing things, they do it at one of their colourful floating markets.

Day 01: Arrival Saigon (Dinner)
Meet on arrival at Tay Son Nhat / International airport and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Pm: Sightseeing around the city including History Museum, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Ben Thanh market. Photo stops at famous tourist sites such as City Hall, Grand Theatre, Notre Dame Cathedral and Center Post Office. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 02: Saigon - My Tho - Saigon (Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Drive to My Tho (2-hour drive from Saigon). Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda. My Tho is a prosperous town of 170.000 inhabitants in the Mekong Delta. It is famous for its extensive orchards and immense rice fields. Enjoy a boat ride on the Mekong River and visit an orchard on an island, with lunch en route. Continue with a visit to a snake farm. Pm: Drive back to Saigon with a short city tour at China Town & Thien Hau Temple. Dinner on boat along Saigon River. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 03: Saigon - Departure (Breakfast)
Breakfast at hotel.
Leisure time until transfer to saigon / Tan Son Nhat international airport for departure. End trip.
